Review: Gavin to the rescue

This was a great read, and sometimes you need to read a different genre than you normally do and I am glad I did!

This book follows Gavin during his senior year. From making memories playing football to helping everyone in his high school comes a lot of drama. A single text message changes the course for Gavin’s senior year . Trying to figure out who really is a true friend, to the ultimate prank war. Gavin will be tested and will have to see if he can save himself and his friends from horrible decisions. This was such a good read and reminds me of high school and easily this book is relatable.

Wicked tongue review

I have to say I picked this book on the cover alone. When you read as much as I do sometimes you shy away from the book blurb and have to pick your next read based solely on the cover. This book really didn’t disappoint. This book is a mix of venom meets men in black. This book follows a young man named Daniel who after a night out drinking turns into a life changing experience. This book keeps you on your toes and has you thinking hmmm conspiracy theories?! Despite Daniel’s new symptoms, he is determined to figure out what is wrong with him while trying to fight his new current violent feelings!

Review: Tell me a story: the story series. Episode one by Tamera Lush

5 smoky stars!!

I got this book provided in return to right an honest review. I can’t believe how many books I need to read and review right now!

This was a great quick read. This story is about a girl named Emma who owns a book store. She is trying to keep it open and stop the big company from buying out the buildings and making it into condos.

One and a while she hosts adult night where she reads erotic novels out loud at a local cafe. Little do they know it’s stories she writes: at a reading she meets an attractive man named Caleb. He was perfect and she knew she wanted him.

After a hot and heavy night things start to get complicated when she finds out he is rich and she comes from a poor family. This drama filled romance book won’t disappoint with a bunch of erotic scenes!

Excerpt

“He’s coming out. His driver just had the car come around. Are you ready?”

There was a grumble on the other end. “Ready?! I thought you said, you would think of something else?! We’ve been here two hours and you can't come up with a better plan than this?!”

I rolled my eyes hearing Jason complain. What I was about to do was plan B which I had made in case I couldn't think of a plan A. “Look I paid you, okay? Just get into place and do what you got paid for please. If he leaves and I don't get paid, then I'll gladly let Gerald know –”

“Fine!” Jason quickly cut me off. “But I won't like it. Just try not to die, Elle.”

He hung up and I placed the phone back into my pocket. I, myself, hoped I wouldn't die too, with what was about to happen. Running across to where I knew the car would be heading, I stood on the sidewalk as the cars passed by and pulled my phone out again. Unlocking the phone, I took a deep breath and sent a small prayer up to God.

I don't know when Christoff got into the car, I only saw the white Mulsanne drive off and make a left towards me in order to turn onto the main road of Brickell Avenue. With the other pedestrians moving so quickly behind me, my heart skipped a beat as I watched in slow motion as the car approached.

Wondering where Jason was, panic shot its way through my veins and I glanced down at my phone to text Jason again, when suddenly I felt a firm hand on my back, followed by a hard shove forward.

He turns his head to the side and he’s looking at me so deeply, I’m trying to hide my true feelings from him.  “You think friends with benefits would be different? How?”
I shrug my shoulders.  “Well, because you’d know I’m emotionally messed up and that what we have could fizzle out, but at least we’d still be friends because we’d both know we are in it to… you know, help each other out.”
Austin laughs, and I’ve never been more grateful to hear it, but he sombers quickly and looks at me skeptically.  “I’ve never known you to be a friend with benefits type of woman.”
My heart is hammering in my chest.  “Well, you and I both know you’ve never been the settling down type anyway. Who better to try out the friends with benefits thing with than you?”
We’re still holding hands, and his thumb rubs over my palm in a slow, circular motion. We both watch our hands and when he looks up, I meet his gaze, holding my breath.
Finally, he mutters softly, “If that’s the only way I can have you, that’s fine.”

Brodie looked down at the kitten as it started licking his thumb, its rough tongue rasping over his skin.
“What’s its name?” Brodie managed to keep his voice even. His pull to this woman was something else. He came on this job to make a few extra bucks before his big fight on Saturday, and hopefully, it was one of his last construction gigs. Boxing was his life, and working all day interfered with his training regimen.
It also meant he didn’t really have time for a distraction like Tabitha, but he was finding her damn near impossible to resist.
“Max, or more likely, Fur-Ball of Destruction.” She cooed a little and rubbed a finger on the kitten’s ear. “My favorite sweater is now the lining of his bed,” she pointed into the box and he saw a soft, white material there, laid in like a nest for the little guy to sleep in. “I’ve only had him two days, and it seems like he’s already destroyed half of my apartment.”
He chuckled at that, “Just like a bad boy, eh?” He nuzzled the kitten and gave her a wink that made the blush rise up the creamy skin of her chest again. This time it continued over her neck and into her cheeks. He could get used to seeing that.

review: Doubt by Ane-Rae Vasquez

Doubt by Anne-Rae Vasquez

like 2.5 meh stars....

I got this book from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I first have to say I am sorry for how long it took me to read these books. I went on a hiatus not reading any books. I finally got my groove back, and with this stay at home order I finally get to put a dent on my "for review" books.

This book was not really in my wheel house. It was a young adult book which I like, but it wasn't as supernatural as I hoped. This book follows a guy named Harry. His father was very smart and had a great job. He went missing, and then found dead. Harry grew up without a father. He graduated high school early and had his PHD before he was 22. He turned down some really good jobs to work as an IT manager for a nice company. He made his on video game, and still has some of the rights. This company that he works for he gets to hire his own team to go on these missions. He hired 5 people who all play his video game and are very good at it.
This book starts to get weird after it introduces all the people. One girl named Crystal we will find who likes Harry more than a boss, but is conflicted because she thinks she feels something special with her other co-worker that she cant put her finger on it. Then a natural earthquake hits the world, and everyone is thinking one of the game seekers has their hand in why it happened. People all over world are saying they saw a girl and having weird dreams when this earthquake happen. There are a lot of people who's loved ones went missing and they are all trying to figure it out. there are a lot of twists in this book, and some of the book has me left with a bunch of questions. Which will most likely be answered in book 2. a lot of the supernatural stuff does not happen to half of the book if over. So, for me I really had to push myself to finish the book.

Down with the Dance by C.T. Walsh

5 I love Austin stars!!

I got this book from Book Sirens in exchange for an honest review...

I have to say this was a very quick read. This book can easily become a movie. I found myself falling in love with the main character and seeing myself a little bit going thru middle school..

Austin was a normal geek getting ready to start his adventures in middle school. He thought he did everything right. That was except if you had an older brother who had a weird birthday and is now in the same grade as you. His brother who he call Buttchin was the favorite in the family and was the sports nut. His brother makes his life miserable any chance he gets.

There was a new principle this year because the last one caused a riot. So there is now a prion warden who is making his own rules. He officially has it out for Austin and makes sure the rest of the school knows that Austin is the reason for all these new rules. At first I thought it was just bad luck, but then I realized was have a new villain in the story.

Austin's only goal was to go to the dance with Sophia who he is in love with. She likes him, but he always finds himself stuck in situations where she will doubt his inner good. Can Austin stop all these people trying to destroy him and the dance?

WHISK ME AWAY

He’s over me, the scent of man and citrus and red pine shifting and reminding me who I’m with. This isn’t just a random college student I’m trying to conjure an interest in. It’s K-Pop, my dream, the one who’s been untouchable for several years. My neighbor. I’ve seen him every day. I’ve tried to avoid him, because the sensation of not having him has been so big.

“Baby.” Reverent, I use the tips of my fingers to rake through his hair, letting them get stuck in the white-blond spikes that are softer than they look. He responds to my touch, meeting my mouth with his own. In small puffs of passion, he exhales warm air over my skin.

“Can I?” he whispers, unwrapping the buttonless front of my dress.

“You don’t have to ask.”

The way he breathes when he’s aroused sends my heart flying. K-Pop is usually such a loud, colorful person. Now, he’s quiet, and the stutters of his exhale heats my abdomen. I didn’t experience him this way the last time, all those years ago. I never saw his personality change.

Silently, he caresses my cleavage, runs his hand down until the pieces of fabric fall away. I bow toward him, wanting the fabric off, and he listens, steadying it against the sheets until I can slink out of it.

“God,” he whispers, gaze warm has he takes me in. With a hand under my neck, he lifts my mouth to his. He licks my lips while he searches downward, over my stomach, until it reaches my thighs. I spread them, moaning. I want more, fast, but he doesn’t touch me where I long for him.

“Your thighs are softer than rabbit fur,” he whispers, and it’s hot and funny, making a sting of lust go off in my stomach.

I reach up and undo the buttons of his shirt. He shoulders out of it without missing a beat. With his eyes open, he takes me in as I marvel over the sinewy torso hovering over me, his masculinity wanting me and only me.

“You have tattoos,” I breathe, staring at his happy-trail. The number seven is prominent within intricate curls and swirls, one of them resembling a dragon.

He looks down at himself and smiles. “And regular hair.”

I bite down on my own smile. “That was a mean prank, but there’s something to be said for pubic feathers.”

“I’d do it again for you.” He falls on top of me and sucks his way down the nape of my neck. I try to hide that I’m gasping for air—I don’t want him to slow down.

Sure fingers find my folds as he rocks against me. It’s automatic when I spread open for him, allowing him to feel the slickness inviting him in. He groans in response, causing me to grow hotter by the second. When his thumb massages my love nub and two fingers find their way inside me at the same time, I let out a sob of pleasure.

“Ninni… nae salang.” Suddenly, he’s all action, tossing off the remainder of his clothes. Breathless, I watch him tug my panties off. They fly across the room. Like the shadow of a bird, they land out of reach, and it’s as it should be.

He falls over me, nudge me wide for him. I feel him jutting against my cleft. On instinct, I sigh and encircle his hips with my legs. Pulling him tight, I close my eyes, getting ready for heaven. Then, I freeze.

“K-Pop. Did you bring condoms?”

He stops mid-move, breath faltering. “Shit.”
