i got this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review..


this book was such a great read. it was suspenseful, had lots of crime and gang activity which i love in a book. the only thing i hated was the ending. don't get me wrong, it was a wonderful ending. I really hate sad sad tear breaking endings, and this had one.


this book is about a girl named Anna. She is a prosecutor for the sex crime unit. she was in charge of a case that involved a brothel. She quickly learned there was lot more going on then just this rape at the brothel. She found of the Ms-13 was involved in the case. Anna was trying to question a lot of police officers that were involved in the case, but no one would answer any of the questions. the only cop that answered any of her questions was Hector. He was quick to answer, but also was caught in the bad part of town roughing up the MS-13 members.on the these members had a picture of anna's boyfriend ex wife nola.
there is a lot going on at once in this book so it might seem confusing. she was getting engaged to her on again off again boyfriend. He worked in the same office as her but in homicide. His late wife died so she was working on building a relationship with his daughter olivia. She quickly found out that her boyfriend's ex wife dealt with a lot of her gang members and decided to pull her death file with her other case files. She then realized that her boyfriends ex wife murder was questionable. she found out the Hector was involved in her death and she was going to get FBI involved.

things went south when the MS-13 head member "devil" for a green light on her meaning anyone who saw her was suppose to kill her. The devil is a guy who has horn and a messed up nose. everyone thinks he is called upon and shows up using tons of force to make the gang powerful. Anna finds out that her boyfriend's ex wife is not dead and has to decided to tell her boyfriend only months before there wedding.

on top off all the drama Anna runs in with one of the ms-13 members and you will not believe what happens next!
